FORMING PAST SIMPLE TENSE
These are some rules to make affirmative, negative and interrogative sentences in the simple past tense in English language that you should know.
The auxiliary verb "to do" is conjugated in the past tense as follows:
I DID
YOU DID
HE / SHE / IT DID
WE DID
YOU DID
THEY DID
Remember: All verbs are conjugated for all the personal pronouns subjects in the same way in the past simple tense, but there is an exception with the verb "to Be".It changes in the first and third persons of singular.

AFFIRMATIVE SENTENCES

Example:
"You came home last night"
NEGATIVE SENTENCES
SUBJECT + DIDN´T +verb infinitive+ COMPLEMENTS
Example:
You didn´t come home last night.
INTERROGATIVE SENTENCES
DID + SUBJECT + verb infinitive + COMPLEMENTS ?
Example:
Did you come home last night?
SHORT ANSWERS
Yes, SUBJECT + did
No, SUBJECT + didn´t
Example:
Yes, I did
No, she didn´t
